Beware – these are not rubbish bins!

Council has public recycling collection points in the city at Millers Acre, central Trafalgar Street, Tahunanui Beach and at Saxton Field.

We have ongoing issues with the recyclables being contaminated with general rubbish. When this happens, the bins have to be treated as rubbish and end up going to the landfill.

There are also general rubbish bins available, so please take notice and put your rubbish or recycling in the right bin.
It’s a real shame when we have to dispose of it as rubbish, especially for everyone who had done the right thing by recycling their glass, paper, plastic and cans.
