Over the last week we have seen a drop in the numbers of people visiting the Incident Information Centre at Miller’s Acre. On Thursday and Friday this week (8 and 9 September) insurance agents will move from the i-Site building to Nelson City Council’s Customer Service Centre on Trafalgar Street. From next week the service will close, but our customer service team is still on hand to help with any queries or concerns related to the weather event.

From next week (Monday 12 September) the service will close, but our customer service team is still on hand to help with any queries or concerns related to the weather event.

If you have a question or need for Temporary Accommodation please call us on 03 546 0200 and we will get you a callback from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment to discuss your individual case within 48 hours. Alternatively you can email direct to MBIE on Nelsonflooding.tempaccom@mbie.govt.nz or you can register on their website.

The Temporary Accommodation Service assists households affected by a natural disaster to find safe, secure and accessible temporary accommodation while their home is repaired or rebuilt.

If you are facing financial hardship you may qualify for assistance from the Mayoral Relief Fund. To make an application you can either visit the Customer Service Centre or public libraries in person (we will print and photocopy applications and required documents free of charge if required), or visit Shape Nelson.
