Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, Māori Language Week acknowledges Māori language as a unique cultural treasure for all New Zealanders on 9 to 15 September.

This year the theme is "Kia Kaha te Reo Māori" and directly translates as "Let's make the Māori language strong".

This year we are pleased to share some of the initiatives happening within our community to celebrate Te Reo Māori.

On behalf of Nelson City Council we hope you can attend one of our events and give Te Reo Māori a go!
