The Building Consent Authority (BCA) has reviewed how structural engineers issue a Code Compliance Certificate.

As a result, structural engineers must now provide more supporting information to accompany Construction Review Producer Statements (PS4),  to confirm that the inspections have been undertaken and the works approved by the engineer.

Supporting information will need to include:

Evidence that all inspections listed on the PS1 were undertaken along with any other inspections requested through the build;
The date of the inspection listed and initialled; and A brief outline of the outcome of the site inspection.  If this information is not provided the BCA may be unable to issue the code compliance certificate.
