In response to the strength of feeling in the Nelson community, Nelson City Council invites the public to sign a condolence book for the families affected by the attacks in Christchurch.

The book is now available at Civic House, 110 Trafalgar Street. The condolences will be collected until 2 April and then shared with the families and community affected in Christchurch.

There is also an online condolence book, www.nelson.govt.nz/condolences-for-christchurch for those unable to visit the office to sign the book.

It will also be available at Race Unity Day on Sunday 24 March, starting at 11 am in Victory Square.

Mayor Rachel Reese says, “It is important to come together in any way we can when faced with such a dreadful tragedy. This is a small way that Nelsonians can share their grief and offer their support to those at the centre of this brutal act.”
