Passengers were welcomed with a special treat when they arrived at the new Nelson Airport terminal on Tuesday 9 October.

Tasman District Council Mayor Richard Kempthorne and Nelson Mayor Rachel Reese greeted passengers on the first flights of the day and gave away some tasty locally made treats.

The terminal was open to the public for the first time, after stage one of the redevelopment was completed.

The Nelson Airport is a Council Controlled Trading Organisation, which is jointly owned by the Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council.
