Nelson’s creative community is invited to show off its artistic flair in a new round of Chorus Art Cabinet mural submissions.

The call, from Arts Council Nelson on behalf of Nelson City Council and Chorus, seeks to transform two medium and two small Chorus cabinets into works of art.

The cabinets chosen to receive a makeover are on the corner of Atawhai Dr and Paremata St, on Main Rd Stoke and two on Tahunanui Dr.

The design for the cabinet on the corner of Atawhai Dr/Paremata St should embrace the Māori meaning of the word Atawhai – “to show kindness” or “to foster” - but the other three cabinets do not have a theme.

The designs will be reviewed by Arts Council Nelson and Nelson City Council’s Arts Selection Panel.

Design submissions are open now, and close midday Wednesday, 11 August.
