Nelson’s creative community is invited to show off its artistic flair in a new round of Chorus Art Cabinet makeovers.

The call for mural design submissions, from Arts Council Nelson in partnership with Nelson City Council and Chorus, and seeks to transform five Chorus cabinets into works of art.

The cabinets chosen to receive a makeover are on Mill Road, Tipahi Street, Milton Street, Panorama Drive and Saxton Road.

The selected artists will be paid for their work depending on the size of the cabinet they are allocated, this ranges from $600 to $1700. Artists will also be reimbursed up to $150 for materials.

The art for the cabinets does not have a theme that must be followed, and artists can submit as many designs as they wish.

The designs will be reviewed by Arts Council Nelson’s Arts Selection Panel.

Design submissions are open now, and close on Friday, 29 September.

For more details and an application form, see the Arts Council Nelson website.
