Isel House has opened for the summer season and Nelson City Council is looking for heritage hosts to greet visitors and share the house’s history.

Isel House opened on Tuesday, 16 November, and is open Tuesday- Saturday, 10am – 3pm until April.

Volunteers are essential to running the house, and more hosts are needed to help with the upcoming season.

Hosting at Isel House is the perfect activity for those who enjoy history and meeting people. The available shifts are on weekends, either morning 11am-1.30pm or afternoon 1.30pm-4pm, and during the Isel Market, which takes place on Thursdays from 5pm-7.30pm. Additional volunteers will allow the house to open on Sundays and market days.

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact Māhina Marshall on 022 546 0240 or

email: Māhina.Marshall@ncc.govt.nz.
