The annual Nelson Mayor’s Christmas Dinner will be at Pūtangitangi Greenmeadows Centre from 11.30am on Christmas Day, and it’s free.

Anyone who would like to spend time with others and enjoy a free meal on Christmas Day is welcome.

“Christmas Day is about giving, enjoying the company of others and being thankful for Nelson’s many blessings. If anybody faces the prospect of Christmas Day alone, I'd love them to join us,” says Nelson Mayor Nick Smith.

“Murray Leaning, the Nelson Youth Choir and a team of elf helpers are creating this opportunity for the community to enjoy the spirit of the season.”

Tickets are free but numbers are needed for catering, so to book your free ticket to the Nelson Mayor’s Christmas Dinner or enquire about transport to and from the community centre, please call or text 021 340 553 or email famcarp123@hotmail.com.

Murray says some extra volunteer elves would also be welcome from 10.30am or to help with the clean-up
from 2pm. If you can help, please call or text 021 340 553 or email famcarp123@hotmail.com.
