New Trustees appointed to the Bishop Suter Trust

There will be two new faces bringing their passion for art to the Bishop Suter Trust for the next three years.

Nelson City Council and the Bishop Suter Trust are pleased to announce the appointments of Judy Finn and Rebecca Mason and the re-appointment of Margaret Soderberg to the Bishop Suter Trust until 31 October 2022.

Among other things, the Bishop Suter Trust manages and operates The Suter Art Gallery Te Aratoi o Whakatu which recently celebrated its 120th birthday and three years since the opening of its redeveloped facilities. 

More than 140,000 people passed through the doors of The Suter Art Gallery in the past year, illustrating the success of the redevelopment.

The Suter is a charitable trust, which is not owned by Council, although as a Council Controlled Organisation, Council appoints more than 50% of the board members.
