Plan Change 29 update

Through the process of the Plan Change 29 hearing, submitters have provided the hearing panel with their views on the changes now recommended.
In addition to submissions, council officers and technical experts were able to present their proposed amendments.
Since its initial notification, the proposed recommendations within Plan Change 29 have undergone evolution, a typical aspect of the plan change process. The complexity of the issues raised and the feedback received through submissions, further submissions, and pre-hearing meetings have all contributed to shaping these changes. The most current version of the proposal is available through Shape Nelson.
The hearing is being live-streamed on YouTube allowing broad access for individuals to follow the proceedings in real-time or to view the recordings at their convenience.
The hearing will be in recess until a presentation of expert evidence on Natural Hazards scheduled for Tuesday, 17 September 2024. This session will also be live-streamed, continuing the commitment to accessibility for all interested individuals.
