Founders Annual Book Fair is back for 2023, and a bounty of books awaits you.

Opening on King’s Birthday weekend, the hugely popular fair is expected to draw over 10,000 people to Founders Heritage Park over nine days starting Saturday, 3 June through to Sunday 11, 10am-4.30pm daily.

The book fair is a fundraiser for projects at Founders Heritage Park, such as new displays and venue improvements.

Book Fair Coordinator Susan Johnson says record lovers are in for a treat at this year’s fair; for the first time, a silent auction featuring 35 rare and collectable LPs will be held.

A dedicated team of volunteers has been working for the past six weeks to organise the thousands of donated books, puzzles, games, vinyl records, DVDs, CDs and cassette tapes.

“We sort the donations into over 100 categories, which helps to make the Founders Annual Book Fair more enjoyable for visitors, and somewhat unique from many other large book fairs.

“It's an awesome event for the community, and an important fundraiser for Founders.

What you’ll find:

Returning once more by popular demand is a section of books about birds.  These sold out quickly last year, and there are plenty more avian books on offer this year.

If you’re thinking of a new hobby, pottery could be the answer – there's a large number of pottery books ready to inspire your creativity.

If your thoughts have turned to travel, here is your chance to buy a travel guide for your upcoming holiday or discover new destinations from the huge selection of travel books.

There is plenty on offer for children and parents, including children’s books, jigsaws, games, and foreign language books.

There will once again be vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and cassette tapes for sale in the building across from the Granary.

Don’t forget...

We will have bags available, but recycling and sustainability are a big part of this event so please remember to bring your reusable bags to take purchases home.

Entry to the fair costs $2 per person, children under 12 free. A weekly pass, which will allow you to come and go as many times as you like, is $5.

The Lioness Club is holding a sausage sizzle over the King’s Birthday long weekend and the Founders Café will open throughout the fair.
