Council is taking part in the "5 Day, 5 Phrases" challenge to celebrate New Zealand Chinese Language Week, which runs from 23-29 September.

We hope others will take up the challenge; the aim is for all Kiwis to learn these five simple phrases by the end of NZCLW.

Nelson Mayor Rachel Reese, Councillor Gaile Noonan and the Nelson Youth Council are taking part in the "5 Day, 5 Phrases" challenge.

The Nelson Public Libraries are also running two story times during the week.

Mandarin Story Times will be held at the Elma Turner Library on Wednesday 26 September at 10:30am, for children ages 2 and under, and Thursday 27 September at 2pm for children ages 3+.
