Upper Trafalgar Street – a fun place to hang out

Upper Trafalgar Street is transforming as part of Nelson City Council’s City Centre Development Programme.
Artificial turf, multipurpose seating/planter boxes, hammock seats, picnic tables and bean bags, are being installed in the coming weeks.
The current work is temporary to gauge how people use the recently pedestrianised street, informing us of how we might make more permanent changes to Upper Trafalgar Street and other spaces.
Temporary items will be reused in other city-centre locations.
