October is Kickstart Compost month which means that for this month only the Council composting subsidy is $30 rather than $20.

Use this subsidy to kickstart your composting and give your garden a real boost. The subsidy coupons are only available from participating retailers (conditions apply – ask for a coupon at your retailer). Council also has some great composting and food growing resources on its website, nelson.govt.nz/compost.

How to compost
As part of Kickstart Compost Month Nelson Environment Centre is running a free How to Compost Workshop with the team from Community Compost.  The workshop will include a step by step how to do it, and maintain a healthy system, and will include standing and rotating bins, worm farms, Bokashi buckets and all things compost. 

When:Thursday 25 October, 12 midday to 1pm
