Stoke Library is getting a minor makeover.

The library will be closed from 25 – 28 June 2020 for refurbishment.

New, wider shelving will be installed to make the aisles more accessible and easier to navigate and the furniture, including the young adult seating and armchairs throughout the library, will be replaced for the comfort of visitors.

Nelson Public Libraries Manager Sarina Barron said the changes would give the library a much-needed refresh.

“We’re hoping the changes will make the library an even more comfortable and enjoyable place for our community to visit.”

New, larger signage labelling the different sections of the library is also planned and is expected to be installed in early July. This work will not require any further library closure.

The library will reopen at 9.30am on Monday, 29 June.

Library items can still be returned on the days the library is closed.
