Speed cushions installed on Toi Toi Street

Ten new speed cushions designed to slow traffic and improve safety have been installed on Toi Toi Street.

Before installation, Nelson City Council’s contractor Fulton Hogan conducted a trial on their property, including loading a Nelson Coachlines bus, complete with driver and a bus-load of Fulton Hogan employees, to make sure the new speed cushions can be driven over without bottoming out.

Test runs with smaller vehicles were also given the green light, with vehicles able to drive over the speed cushions safely.
